Stye & Chalazion Treatment

Dr. Soroudi is a world-expert in treating eyelid disorders such as Sties, Chalazia, and Hordeola. A high percentage of his clients have actually had unsuccessful surgery by other surgeons and seek his professional advice from other states and countries.

He has successfully treated thousands of such conditions, and he is the inventor, and holds three patents on a product that helps relieve these conditions.

A chalazion is a lump in the eyelid that is caused by blockage of one of the glands inside our eyelids that make mucous (the Meibomian Glands). This leads to severe swelling, pain, redness, and inflammation of a part of or the entire eyelid.

Dr. Soroudi usually recommends people treat such conditions with warm compresses and antibiotic ointment for a period of a week. If they resolve, which they usually do, he tries to avoid draining them or injecting steroids (Kenalog) into them.

Dr. Soroudi’s product, called the “Eye-press” is sold over at the eye section of over 10,000 pharmacies nationwide (including CVS and Rite Aid).

If they don’t resolve on their own, he utilizes a MINIMALLY INVASIVE approach in draining them. Under a powerful microscope, he injects about 1cc of 1% Lidocaine into the affected area, uses a special clamp to isolate the clogged gland, and using an ultra-sharp, pointy 11-blade, he makes a very small vertical slit into the affected gland (not a cruciate incision). This allows the entire gland to drain and using a curette, he makes sure all the contents of the gland are removed. He then usually injects a very small amount of Kenalog into the region to minimize inflammation. Most his patients feel 80-90% improvement the day after this procedure, and 100% improvement within a week.
