iStent is the smallest FDA-approved medical device. These miniature devices are 20,000 times smaller than the replacement lenses used in cataract surgery and about a third of the size of a grain of rice.
Tiny implants with a dramatic impact
iStent restores the natural pathway to properly drain eye fluids. The next-generation version of this device, the iStent inject, comes with two different stents, and is constructed of implant-grade titanium. iStent inject takes treating eye pressure to a new level and has significantly advanced the treatment of elevated intraocular pressure. FDA-approved, Glaukos devices, including iStent and iStent inject, have been implanted in the eyes of patients in the US and across the globe.
