LASIK Vision Correction in Los Angeles

See BETTER than 20/20!
Excerpted from Dr. Soroudi’s Book: Advanced Refractive Surgery:
LASIK stands for Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis and is a procedure that permanently changes the shape of the cornea, the clear covering of the front of the eye, using an excimer laser.
It consists of three basic steps: first, we use a laser to create a round “flap” out of your own Cornea (sort of like opening a 540-page book at page 120); second, we use a different laser to remove about 20-30 pages from inside the book, and third, we close the book.
The entire procedure takes literally a few minutes per eye from start to finish.
The first (Ziemer Femtosecond) laser takes about 26 seconds per eye.
The second (Wavelight Allegretto) laser takes about 1.5seconds per diopter of correction. If you wear -2 glasses, it’ll take only 3 seconds to correct your vision…
There’s very little if any pain during surgery (just pressure).
There’s very little pain after surgery. Just some irritation, and we recommend you take a nap for a few hours after LASIK.
You can drive the next morning and return to your usual activities just the NEXT DAY!
Dr. Soroudi underwent LASIK himself in 2005 (with a much older “intralase” and “VISX” technology), so he knows exactly how it feels and will talk you through your procedure. He still sees better than 20/20 after all these years!)
We are proud to announce that our center is one of only a few LASIK-centers in the entire Los Angeles area equipped with the newest Ziemer Z8 Femptosecond Laser. This ultra-precise technology provides our patients with a 100% bladefree LASIK experience and prevents the need for using any sharp objects to perform this extremely delicate procedure. This makes this procedure extremely quick (26 seconds per eye), painless, and safe!
Only the WaveLight® EX500 Excimer Laser utilizes Wavefront Optimized® ablation profiles designed to help maintain the natural corneal shape
Engineering of the Allegretto laser has taken special steps to ensure that the amount of energy in each pulse of the laser has been calibrated to exactly the right level. After the beam has been created, it passes through three “checkpoints” on its way through the system. At each of these points, the energy level is checked and adjusted if necessary, ensuring that the beam is perfectly ‘tuned’ at its destination.
Any laser is essentially a precise, controlled beam of energy. The Allegretto laser employs a proprietary overlapping spot placement method to ensure accurate energy placement. This is one of the ways that the Allegretto achieves a smoother, optically better, and more natural corneal surface than many other lasers used for vision correction.
We are so confident of our technology, and Dr. Soroudi’s track record of over 15,000+ successful LASIK surgeries, that we actually GUARANTEE our qualified patients with 20/20 vision. This is our testament to providing absolute highest standards in vision correction surgery found anywhere in the world.
We also provide interest-free financing, and follow-ups at no added charge for one year after LASIK. If, for any reason, you require an enhancement procedure, we cover all costs for up to one year!
